Revolution or Evolution? Legal Services Reform unpacked in the latest issue of Briefing
This week sees the release of our 4th issue of Briefing which delves into Legal Services Reform with help from Professor Stephen Mayson and others.
The interesting thing about this and previous issues of Briefing is that there are some common threads around the future of the legal market and how law firms need to shape-up to compete.
Last month Jill King, Global HR Director at Linklaters and Briefing's featured interview referenced 'the new normal', where the current climate presents a prospect not of returning to normal but a move into, ‘the new normal'. ‘new normal’ means law firms need new tools for new challenges, and new leaders for new types of workers. In this month's featured interview Professor Stephen Mayson talks about how law firms are fast learning the ways of ‘normal’ business.
What does this tell us? Well, fundamentally the climate in which law firms operate is changing, or has at least changed in some part, the rest is still to come. In this changing climate law firms are having to explore new ways of operating. The future is not set in stone but the need to evolve is clear.
I hope you enjoy this issue of Briefing on Legal Services Reform.
