The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI) is the largest and longest established professional accounting body in Ireland.
Founded in 1888, the Institute currently has over 15,000 members working worldwide, 65% of which are employed in industry, with the remaining 35% employed in practice. In addition, the Institute has over 4000 students training with firms in Ireland.
Members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland (ICAS) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) are entitled to reciprocal membership of the ICAI.
ICAI’s commitment to members is to provide relevant services and ensure that the Chartered qualification is synonymous with the highest professional standards. We support the interests of all members in our dealings with Government and statutory regulators.
The Institute is governed by a Council responsible for determining policy and monitoring its implementation. Council is led by the Officer Group and is supported by the Management Team and staff.
