Dispute resolution skills ‘in high demand,’ survey reveals
Conflict management skills are in high demand among recruiters in heavy industries “to ensure a mixed labour force runs harmoniously,” a global study has revealed.
The international survey of 1,589 HR professionals, by talent specialists Futurestep, found that more than a fifth of organisations said conflict resolution skills were “in short supply”.
This skill set is important in sectors with high rates of talent migration and culturally diverse workforces, situations that are particularly prevalent in heavy industries such as construction, manufacturing and mining.
Almost a fifth of respondents (19 per cent) also said competencies in conflict management are the most difficult skill to develop in new recruits.
