Gibson Dunn posts impressive 2011 financial results

Gibson Dunn & Crutcher has posted record financial results for the 2011 year, with revenue up 9.7 per cent to $1.17bn (£738m), average profit per equity partner (PEP) up 7.2 per cent to $2.47m (£1.56m) and revenue per lawyer (RPL) up 8.2 per cent to $1.2m (£706,000).

Head count at Gibson Dunn stayed effectively static last year, with growth just a marginal 10 lawyers last year, while the number of equity partners dropped by three.

Last year did see the firm poach two high-profile Hong Kong partners from Reed Smith and O’Meveny & Myers, however, as part of its plan to launch a Hong Kong local law practice (3rd Nov 2011).
