Legal Billing Assistant
Usually the entry level role when working within billing.   The Billing Assistant will provide support to the Billing Clerks and Revenue Controllers and taken on responsibilities for processing and inputting data.   Normally an individual would possess up to 2 years experience.  Click here for the Job Specification.

 

Legal Billing Clerk
The Legal Billing Clerk is responsible for preparation and processing of the firms bills ensuring compliance to VAT regulations.   This individual will often gain exposure to WIP management and be responsible for conducting review meetings with Partners & fee earners.   Legal Billing roles vary significantly from firm to firm but you would normally expect an individual to possess anywhere from 2 - 8 years experience.  Click here for the Job Specification.

 

Revenue Assistant
A Revenue Assistant, similar to a Billing Assistant is normally the entry level role for this area within finance.   The Revenue Assistant will support Revenue Controllers in their day to day duties of WIP management and more often than not be responsible for inputting and processing data whilst learning the workings of revenue management.   These individuals would normally possess up to 2 years experience.  Click here for the Job Specification.

 

Senior Legal Biller/Billing Supervisor
The Senior Legal Biller/Billing Supervisor is an evolution of the Legal Billing Clerk and normally associated with individuals who have adopted a more advanced billing role or supervisory position within the team.   These individuals would normally possess anywhere from 6 – 12 years experience.  Click here for the Job Specification.

 

Revenue Controller
The role of the Revenue Controller varies dramatically depending on the Law firm.   Revenue management generally incorporates Billing, WIP management & Credit Control.   Revenue Controllers all gain exposure to the WIP management aspect of revenue but some incorporate the Billing aspect on a daily basis whilst others the Credit Control aspect.   In very few Law firms a Revenue Controller will complete the whole cycle.   These individuals would normally possess 5-12 years experience.  Click here for the Job Specification.

 

Billing/Revenue Manager
Responsible for overall control of the Billing/Revenue function this role can also vary significantly depending on the size of the firm.   Similar to most management roles the Billing/Revenue Manager will work closely with the Director of Finance in analysing departmental performance and looking at ways to improve internals procedures and controls.  These individuals would normally possess 10+ years experience.  Click here for the Job Specification.
