SALARY NEGOTIATION
Prior to attending the interview you should be aware of the remuneration/salary scale of the vacancy for which you are attending an interview.
If you are attending interview via a Recruitment Consultant it is likely that your current salary and salary expectations will have been communicated to the employer. If this is the case then make sure you are aware of these figures and that when/if asked at interview that you communicate the same information. It is embarrassing and leads interrogating to questions if these figures differ greatly.
A Recruitment Consultant should be able to offer you guidance on an appropriate salary level, however, if you have applied direct it is important to do your homework prior to the interview and understand the market salary levels.
If you are asked "what salary are you looking for?" you should answer confidently and be prepared to explain how you have come to that figure.
