On Monday 9 November, LSN opened its networking doors once again to over 250 guests with its Connect4Community celebration. The November event, designed to help connect professionals in the legal community in an original and engaging way, was the grand finale of 2018 and the last of the three networking events held each year in London.

On Monday 9 July, LSN ushered in a new era of London networking events with our Connect4Community celebration, where we successfully brought together the brightest legal business professionals for a free evening of fun, games and giveaways. This summer’s Connect4Community is one of three London networking events held each year, designed to fulfil LSN’s mission to help connect professionals in our community with each other in a fun, different and meaningful way.

Will Aid is an annual fundraising campaign involving nine of the UK’s leading charities. With the support of solicitors who donate their skills, they encourage people to have their Will drawn up by a professional solicitor whilst at the same time supporting vital charities.

Andrew Spicer is cycling 300-miles in aid of charity from London to Paris to support Elite UK’s chosen charity for 2017, World Bicycle Relief.

Andrew will be joining 20 other keen and intrepid cyclists making the trip, including one from our client, Weightmans Stuart Whittle.

He will be starting from the iconic Herne Hill Velodrome, where the 1948 Olympic cycling events were staged, on 20th July.

On the first day, he will ride through the English countryside to Dover on the south coast.

The award for innovation went to the US$2.3 billion restructuring of Ukrainian steel and mining company Metinvest and involved 159 lawyers across A&O’s London, Amsterdam and New York offices.

Completed in March, Metinvest used three schemes of arrangement in the UK, and three parallel Chapter 15 filings in the US over two years to restructure its debts. The first two schemes achieved a standstill agreement with creditors: the last scheme implemented the company’s restructuring plan.

“I don’t want to waste anyone’s time” as a recruiter this is one of the most frustrating lines that I hear coming from any prospective candidate – especially when cancelling an already scheduled interview on the basis that they have had another offer.

The latest Birmingham law firm forum took place last night at the Zen Metro bar in Birmingham and it was nothing short of a blast. The LSN team took to the road yesterday afternoon and was greeted by 60 guests ready to get their network juices flowing.

The atmosphere was fantastic and it was great to see so many people gather together on a Wednesday evening to meet and connect with each other. We saw a whopping 50 law firm guests and 10 of our amazing Networkpartners, 32 newbies and 28 loyal LSN’ers altogether.
