FileTrail case study: Law firm leverages cutting-edge RM Software to replace outdated system

Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP discovered that FileTrail provides records management software that can easily be integrated with the firm’s accounting system. Plus, it’s already integrated with numerous DM systems right out-of-the-box.

CHALLENGE: DEPLOY A HOLISTIC RM SOFTWARE PLATFORM TO MANAGE DOCUMENTS AND RECORDS FIRM-WIDE

Having used an aging records management system for years, Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP sought a cutting-edge modern replacement that would integrate with its newer document management NetDocuments, and accounting system to deliver a seamless user experience.

It also wanted to customize its new system according to the firm’s unique requirements. In other words, it didn’t want to be constrained by a preset structure or terminology when setting up the firm’s file system. Instead, it wanted to users to be able to define terms and locations based on the firm’s unique locations map, parent/child relationship structure, etc.

WALLER CHOOSES FILETRAIL

After investigating several options for upgrading its RMS, Waller chose FileTrail. Not only did it integrate with NetDocuments, it also offered the flexibility to customize the platform in ways that other products did not.

Another FileTrail selling-point was its consultative approach. The firm trusted that FileTrail’s knowledgeable, proactive support team would provide the level of service required for a successful implementation, comprehensive training and ongoing system support.

“The idea of replacing our firm’s legacy records management platform was initially daunting. Change can be hard. We took our time to find a solution that would provide a modern, integrated approach to our RM/DM, while offering the ability to customize the system to our unique environment…. FileTrail met all our needs.”
