Thomson Reuters Solcara case study: Norton Rose Fulbright

Solcara legal search: one search is all it takes

Norton Rose Fulbright deploy Solcara legal to support enterprise wide legal research

Leading international legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright, winner of the Financial Times’ 'Innovative Lawyers 2009' award and 'Law Firm of the Year' at 'The Lawyer Awards' 2009, is part of Norton Rose Group, a leading international legal practice offering full business law service from offices across Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

Norton Rose Fulbright successfully launched their award winning Enterprise Search Solution, NavigatoR, in 2007 providing a powerful tool to search across a core set of know how resources. Its effectiveness meant that NavigatoR soon became integral to the firm’s fee earners’ work practice.

In June 2009, Solcara’s Legal Search was integrated with NavigatoR. According to Miriam Davies, head of library and information services, Legal Search simplifies the process of online searching and increases the chances of undertaking effective research. Some of the factors that influenced the selection of Solcara Legal Search were:

Solcara has had a long established relationship with approved content providers such as Westlaw UK, LexisNexis, Practical Law Company etc.

Continuous monitoring and maintenance of connectors, by Solcara, to existing and new resources meant that Norton Rose Fulbright did not have to worry about any significant additional costs of running the solution once deployed

An easily modified user interface that could be integrated within the firm’s existing enterprise search solution, NavigatoR.
