NetDocuments announces executive leadership appointments

NetDocuments, the leading cloud-based content management platform for law firms and corporate legal and compliance departments backed by Clearlake Capital, announced today that Josh Baxter has been named CEO of NetDocuments, with Matt Duncan continuing with the company in the role of executive chairman. Long-time sales leader Marc Duncan will assume the position of strategic sales VP.

Matt Duncan, having served in a number of executive roles since the company’s inception, including serving as CEO since 2014, will continue to focus his time and energy on the company’s strategic objectives while also taking time to care for his father and NetDocuments co-founder, Ken Duncan, who is battling late-stage Parkinson’s disease. “Those in the industry who know Ken, and the special relationship Matt and Ken share, won’t be surprised to hear that Matt feels the need to support Ken during this very difficult time,” said Alvin Tedjamulia, company CTO, who co-founded NetDocuments with Ken. “As executive chairman, Matt will remain involved with NetDocuments and continue to help with strategic planning and corporate initiatives.”

Josh Baxter has been President & COO since joining NetDocuments in early 2017, leading the company’s operations to accelerate growth, including driving the recent acquisition of ThreadKM. He will join Matt Duncan and Alvin Tedjamulia on the NetDocuments Board of Directors. “Over the past year, Josh and I have developed a very strong working relationship,” added Tedjamulia. “There is absolutely no one better equipped to continue leading NetDocuments on its upward trajectory.”

“Josh is a natural leader and has a great command of all aspects of the NetDocuments business,” said Matt Duncan. “Josh and I have worked very closely together over the past year and will continue to collaborate going forward.”

“The partnership Matt and I have developed during my time at NetDocuments will continue to influence the evolution of our business,” said Baxter. “As executive chairman, Matt will continue to help shape our strategy and will remain closely involved with customers and partner relationships.”

“We are excited about the robust growth trajectory at NetDocuments, our breadth of product offerings, and continued market leadership as law firms and corporate legal and compliance departments increasingly embrace cloud products and solutions,” said Prashant Mehrotra, partner at Clearlake Capital. “We look forward to our continued partnership with Matt, Josh, Alvin and the entire NetDocuments leadership team as we support the company’s strong momentum in the market.”

NetDocuments also announced Marc Duncan’s promotion to vice president of strategic sales. Baxter commented on the move, “Marc has been a key leader in our sales organization for many years and will now leverage his vast experience to play a strategic role on our sales and executive team. Marc’s ability to partner with Global 200 law firms to ensure their success will be a key part of our future.”
