Law firms to improve ethics and professional development with new courses from Access Legal
To help legal professionals to stay on top of their ethics training and maintain a high standard of service for clients, a series of course updates have been launched by Access Legal, a leading provider of software and services to the UK legal market.
The courses from Access Legal Learning, which went live in May, include updated training on whistleblowing and unconscious bias. The updated whistleblowing course, suitable for workers in all roles, explains to legal professionals the rights and responsibilities of UK whistleblowers and of those representing them, plus the steps needed to make a protected disclosure.
To help legal professionals identify and address unconscious biases that may influence their decisions, the updated unconscious bias course will prepare them on how to mitigate the effects of unconscious bias and build an effective firm culture. It also includes first-hand insight from ethics expert Alex Foster, a solicitor from Express Solicitors.
Further, an update to Access Legal’s SRA account rules course was released in April which included up-to-date guidance from the Institute of Legal Finance & Management (ILFM) Fellow Sarah Charlton along with practical advice and case studies.
Louise Hodkiss, Learning Content Lead at Access Legal Learning, shares: “Our courses are designed to reassure law firms that they are up to date with legislation changes and they offer great value too. Beyond the personal development for lawyers, having employees who are equipped with the right knowledge for their role while remaining compliant also positively impacts the overall productivity and efficiency of a firm to help them deliver a high standard of legal services to clients.”
Law firms can also benefit from a practical webinar offering tips and advice on how to create a positive and effective supervision culture within their organisation. The webinar covers regulatory obligations, insight on what makes a good supervisor and learnings on how to get it right to support legal teams and their personal development.
Access Legal Learning’s extensive policies and precedents library contains 75+ policies, precedents and supporting documents to help compliance officers for legal practice (COLPs), compliance officers for finance and administration (COFAs) and firm management meet their regulatory requirements and create a culture of compliance throughout the firm.
