NetDocuments expands its AI ecosystem through ChatGPT Enterprise plugin
NetDocuments, the #1 trusted intelligent document management system for legal professionals, announced its existing ChatGPT plugin is now available through the OpenAI plugin library, bringing NetDocuments’ governed legal context together with OpenAI frontier models.
The milestone is the latest expansion of NetDocuments’ growing Model Context Protocol (MCP) ecosystem, which connects governed legal knowledge to leading AI platforms and applications.
The plugin makes it easier for legal professionals to discover and activate NetDocuments directly within ChatGPT, providing secure access to firm knowledge while preserving existing permissions, governance policies, and security controls.
More broadly, it reflects a shift underway across the legal industry. As organizations move beyond AI experimentation, the focus is turning from model capabilities alone to a more fundamental question: how they can use tools like ChatGPT to securely access the knowledge that already exists inside the firm.
