Case study: LawNet member firm Stepien Lake partners with Oosha for Digital Workspace solution

LawNet members have trusted Oosha for several years when firms such as Clarkson Wright & Jakes and MFG first partnered and more recently Gotelee Solicitors and Longmores. Now Stepien Lake has partnered with Oosha for their Digital Workspace solution.

Based in Mayfair, Stepien Lake has built a reputation based on innovation over their 30-year existence and specialise in commercial and residential development, investment, finance, and corporate occupier work for the major UK and international corporates.

Chief Technology Officer, David Jackson and Chief Executive, Richard Hill, have been leading that innovation for the practice, creating, designing, and implementing sophisticated property management extranets to assist on property transactions and schemes amongst other projects.

However, managing these digital projects, alongside the management of the on-premises servers and end-user support was becoming more challenging.

Oosha was identified as an organisation that understood legal IT, the complexity of migrating their resource-heavy applications, including ALB, and who were a good cultural fit.

This technical expertise complemented the expertise of David and Richard, who were keen on retaining some level of control over the management of the infrastructure whilst accessing the enterprise-grade reporting and management tools used by the Oosha technical teams.

Therefore, David and Richard were confident in partnering with Oosha for their Digital Workspace. Following their go-live back in November 2020, David commented

“The migration went really well to be honest, and it has been a seamless transition for staff. Gurj and Sam have been excellent throughout and have been a pleasure to work with on this project.”

Six months on from that go-live, David comments

“Oosha has become a real extension of our IT department. What originally attracted us to partner with Oosha was the cultural fit between us. It was clear that they understood law firms’ needs and the software they use. As a result of this our staff have been able to continue to provide an uninterrupted and high level of service to our clients.”

Wayne Barber, Managing Director at Oosha, explains

“I had a great feeling after my first meeting with David and Richard in the impressive Mayfair office. We all got on well and I felt mutual respect, I think we all share a similar vision for our businesses.

At Oosha, we’ve always said Stepien Lake operates their IT as if they’ve got the resources of the largest city firms, and I couldn’t have been happier to partner with them on this project. I frequently receive messages from the Oosha technical teams complimenting David and how much of a pleasure it is working with him, it doesn’t get much better than that for me.”

Oosha is the leading provider of digital workspaces and managed IT services to the UK legal sector.
