Call to join pre-seed funding round for Naq Cyber

Naq Cyber is a complete, personalised and affordable cybersecurity solution designed to help small businesses defend against cyber-criminals and stay compliant with data privacy legislation via a monthly subscription service

Call for pre-seed funding follows angel investment from Crosspring and will enable Naq to introduce automation and AI, develop an intelligent marketplace and expand the growing international team

In December Naq Cyber became a certifying body for Cyber Essentials in the UK, and continues to work with IASME to introduce Cyber Essentials elsewhere in Europe

CEO and co-founder Nadia Kadhim recognised by Techround’s BAME 50 under 50 awards alongside the likes of the founder of Zoom and the CEO of Moonpig.

Great Malvern, UK/Amsterdam, NL: Looking ahead with optimism to 2021, co-founders Nadia Kadhim and Chris Clinton are excited to invite investors and VCs to join their pre-seed funding round worth £300,000 for Naq Cyber.

Naq Cyber is the only holistic cyber security solution on the market specifically targeted to small and medium sized businesses, offering a four-pillared solution designed to make life easier for business owners who recognise they have a responsibility to protect their information, but don’t know where to start.

With a strong focus on the legal and accounting markets, Naq is determined to relieve small business owners of the pressures they face to ensure compliance with data protection regulations (inside and outside of the EU), help empower teams to become more digitally savvy and alert to fast-evolving cyber threats, and facilitate fast remediation of existing technical security weaknesses.

“We launched Naq to enable a huge market previously uncatered to, to feel confidently able to operate without fear, and most importantly, to protect people’s financial livelihoods from the potentially devastating consequences of a cyber attack or a data breach.” Chris Clinton, co-founder and CTO, is a CISSP certified cyber security expert holding over 10 years’ experience in building and protecting some of the world’s most sensitive systems with the likes of NATO, BAE Systems and QinetiQ. Chris recognised the significant opportunity to help small to medium sized businesses who can’t afford, and simply don’t require the complex solutions offered by the existing cyber security vendor market. Chris is insistent on avoiding jargon and scare-mongering at all costs in his efforts to make cyber security accessible to this vast, forgotten sector. “No one is immune to a cyber attack, but with Naq, you can sleep easier at night, safe in the knowledge that you’ve done all you can to proactively protect your business from cybercrime.”

Naq Cyber was selected to participate in the National Cyber Security Centre Cyber Accelerator 5th Cohort this summer, joining five other startups chosen for their potential to grow the UK economy and deliver innovation within the cyber security sector. Following the business’ success in this 10 week programme, Naq went on to secure the NCSC scaling stipend to invest in developing an intelligent marketplace and the introduction of technical automation and AI into the product proposition. Customers will have access to the beta rollout from January 2021.

Co-founder and CEO, Nadia Kadhim, is an ex-Child Rights Lawyer specialising in International Law and GDPR legislation – and her mission is simply to use her expertise and experience to help others. Kadhim is intent on changing business owners’ understanding of cyber security from a topic that has frequently left this community feeling alienated – and oftentimes, therefore immune to cyber attacks – into an opportunity to nurture a business’ overall wellbeing, especially from financial, reputational and people perspectives.

As Brexit looms, so does yet another change for businesses handling and processing personal information for customers based in the EU. Naq is inviting small businesses across all sectors to get in touch directly for support through this period as we’re all forced to navigate the intricacies of existing GDPR compliance legislation.

Maurice Beckand Verwee, Founder of Crosspring, responsible for Naq Cyber’s round of angel investment, commented: “Naq Cyber represents a highly differentiated addition to our cyber security portfolio. These founders’ combined experience and focus on SMEs positions Naq uniquely to put cyber security within reach for businesses owners who have just as much responsibility to protect information as the large players, yet lack the dedicated resource to ensure resilience.”

Seize this opportunity to join a seed funding round for a startup committed to pioneering positive attitudes towards cyber security and ensuring all small businesses have access to a holistic service that protects their hard work and hard-earned reputations from the cyber threat.

Get in touch to request the pitch deck or set up a meeting, and get ready to be part of a brighter future.
