Eversheds Sutherland chooses SeeUnity’s Echo Content Synchronization and Vortex Content Mobility to improve content access

Eversheds Sutherland, the international law firm with 61 offices in 29 countries around the globe, has selected two of SeeUnity’s solutions for improved access to their DMS content. SeeUnity’s Echo Content Synchronization was selected to help Eversheds improve the process of external file sharing to their clients and outside counsel between OpenText eDOCS and HighQ. Vortex Content Mobility was selected to empower their users’ internal collaboration by extending easy access to content out of the office.

Eversheds Sutherland had been using eDOCS for 12 years as their DMS. About 7 years ago, they added HighQ to help collaborate externally. Previously, any content that was to be shared in HighQ needed to be manually downloaded from eDOCS and uploaded to HighQ. It was a very time-consuming process and it quickly became out of sync with their DMS content. They needed a solution that allowed for time-saving collaboration with HighQ. They found that SeeUnity’s Echo Content Synchronization would automate the process and ensure that content was always in sync between the systems. Not only does it synchronize content to HighQ, but any content that is uploaded by clients to HighQ is automatically archived to eDOCS ensuring content compliance.

They also wanted to improve internal collaboration and content access. Eversheds Sutherland found that their users are heavy iPad users and they wanted them to be able to access their DM from their mobile devices when out of the office. Initially, users were given VPNs that they needed to log in to each time to access their eDOCS content. However, this process proved time-consuming and frustrating. SeeUnity’s Vortex Content Mobility gives clean, user-friendly access directly to their eDOCS DM. Vortex allows for access to version changes within the DM as well, so users will have the most up to date version of the document.

“We are happy that SeeUnity offered us solutions to two of our biggest time-consuming internal processes,” said Nicholas Eustace, IT Director for Ireland of Eversheds Sutherland. “Their solutions will give our users better access to their DM content and save valuable time. Echo, in particular, will improve efficiency and client service.”

Eversheds plans to roll out Vortex first to give their internal collaboration a boost. Shortly after the completion of that roll-out, the firm will focus on getting Echo up and running for their external collaboration. Vortex is expected to be rolled-out by the end of this month, with Echo following shortly afterward.
