What is Timeline Control?
Timeline Control provides a graphic representation of important events in chronological order. The biggest differentiator between Handshake’s Timeline Control and other similar controls is the ability to structure the control based on multiple data sources and then relate each data set based upon a common entity.
Timeline Control is most often used for matter or client-based timelines (which show all relevant data items based on the client or matter), but it’s easily adapted and has been used to convey information on a wide variety of entities, including invoices and documents as well as practice groups and firms.
What problem does Timeline Control address for Aderant’s clients?
Clients need an easy method to visualize past, present, and future items specific to an entity to help plan, forecast, and report. Understanding a timeline both relative to other events from multiple data silos and from an absolute perspective provides key insights and allows users to understand what is happening and when, informing better decisions on resources and work items. Instead of moving from system to system to cobble together information or reading lengthy reports that take time and resources to create a partial picture of the story, Handshake’s Timeline Control can provide the same information (but quickly, easily, and in a repeatable manner) simply by filtering across entities.
