Diversity and inclusion in the workplace is not just a recent trend, but should be taken seriously among all businesses as employers work to create happy and productive teams.

Emma de Sousa, MD at Access Legal is a big advocate for D&I at work and explains why it is crucial for employers in the legal sector, to ensure their employees feel like their needs in the workplace are being met.

This month, the Solicitor’s Regulatory Authority (SRA)’s bi-annual diversity survey goes live and law firms have four weeks to encourage all their employees to complete it. Emma says, while it is not mandatory for people to fill in, it should be actively encouraged to help build a picture of diversity (or lack of) within the legal industry. And firms who don’t share it with their teams don’t want to find themselves in hot water with the regulators.
