NetDocuments introduces AI-powered tools for trademark prosecution and plaintiff litigation

NetDocuments has added six new AI-powered apps to the ndMAX Studio, designed to help legal teams streamline trademark prosecution and plaintiff-side litigation. Expanding the ndMAX Studio to 39 pre-built apps, the new additions reduce repetitive work, help accelerate key tasks, and move matters forward faster, all within the security and guardrails of the NetDocuments platform.

All ndMAX Studio apps are ready to deploy and purpose-designed for a specific legal workflow, meaning legal teams don’t have to start from scratch. Firms can also use ndMAX AI App Builder to build their own native solutions without needing to stitch together third-party tools.

A connected workflow for trademark prosecution

LexisNexis

The expanded library includes a connected set of trademark prosecution apps addressing deadline-driven filings, repetitive Office Action responses and pre-filing reviews – routine but time-intensive tasks that demand speed and precision from senior practitioners. Together, the new apps enable firms and legal teams to move faster through the most time-intensive phases of trademark prosecution:

  • The Trademark Pre-Filing Registrability & Risk Review App analyzes proposed word marks and goods/services descriptions to identify pre-filing registrability risks, descriptiveness concerns, disclaimer sensitivity, and scope drafting issues in a structured, memo-style review.
  • The Trademarks USPTO Office Action Response App reviews USPTO trademark Office Actions, extracting structured examiner findings and generate playbook-driven response strategies and draft reply sections for trademark practitioners.
  • The USPTO Trademark Prosecution Deadlines App extracts, calculates, and tracks USPTO trademark prosecution deadlines from DMS-stored documents using AI-assisted analysis with human review before any data is saved.

Plaintiff case-building from intake to demand

Three new connected apps also support plaintiff-side practice. They enable firms and legal teams to transform hundreds of pages of medical records into a structured chronology, and to create a draft demand letter, without needing to use third-party apps:

  • The Medical Chronology App summarizes and extracts key events from medical records into a structured memo for efficient chronological review.
  • The Demand Generator App extracts facts, causation evidence, and itemized damages from medical records and case documents to draft jurisdiction-appropriate demand letters for personal injury, employment, and insurance bad faith matters.
  • The Expert Witness Profile Builder App builds structured expert witness profiles from CVs, transcripts, and published works, extracting credentials, prior opinions, and case history while flagging testimony inconsistencies and cross-examination vulnerabilities.

The ndMAX Studio continues to grow with connected, pre-built AI-powered apps that help legal teams move seamlessly from one stage of a matter to the next. This covers key tasks including preparing filings and responding to Office Actions, building chronologies, drafting demand letters, and preparing for litigation.

The six new apps are available to use immediately – visit the ndMAX Studio to explore the full suite.
