Payescape: UK begins reopening stage two
As more vaccines become available and COVID numbers continue to decline, the UK will begin easing lockdown rules and reopening in Stage 2 beginning on 12 April. What does this mean for you and your business?
During this new stage, all shops, restaurants and pubs, close-contact services like hairdressers and salons, gyms, libraries and community centres can reopen. Working from home and minimising journeys is still encouraged where possible, but 2 households or 6 people will be able to gather outdoors as part of the new stage, along with weddings up to 15 people and up to 30 will be able to attend funeral services.
As the UK begins to ease restrictions and open up again, there will be new considerations for businesses bringing back employees to the office. Creating alternating schedules, deciding which workers should return in person if possible, there are many options to bring your team back to the office. As more of the UK population gets vaccinated, this will bring a new phase of office reopening as well.
