Taylor Bracewell Achieves Government-Backed Cybersecurity Accreditation With Access Legal Proclaim
Taylor Bracewell, a leading law firm based in South Yorkshire, has successfully achieved Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation by switching to the latest version of Access Legal Proclaim, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to best practice in cybersecurity and to remain compliant with data protection standards.
Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed accreditation scheme that certifies a business has the appropriate controls and processes in place to keep the organisation’s data – and, by extension, its customer’s data – safe from cyber security breaches. In fact, the National Cyber Security Centre recommends that all UK businesses should regard the Cyber Essentials certification as a minimum standard of cybersecurity.
Taylor Bracewell, however, has gone one step further with the next grade of protection. Cyber Essentials Plus provides the same protections as the standard certification, but achieving it requires passing more rigorous inspection rather than just a self-assessment. The testing includes an external technical audit to provide an accurate and in-depth assessment of a firm’s IT security infrastructure. This investigation covers a sample of user devices, gateways to the internet, and all servers with internet access that may be used to store valuable client data.
Upgrading to the latest version of Access Legal Proclaim proved to be pivotal in the certification process as it ensured continued support and critical protection against new and emerging cybersecurity threats. The firm now benefits from the peace of mind that its secure digital environment keeps client data safe and cyber criminals at bay.
Despite a short deadline set by Cyber Essentials, the support team at Access Legal were able to deploy the latest version of Proclaim across all offices in record time, ensuring the firm was fully geared up in time for the inspection.
“Law firms are a prime target for cybercrime due to the nature of our work, so security is a top priority,” explains Roy Sharp, practice manager who oversees IT and the day-to-day management of the firm. “Our successful achievement of the Plus certification stands testament to our dedication to protecting our clients’ data and keeping fully compliant with relevant data regulations.”
Director of Customer Success for Access Legal, Aimee Seaton added; “Our team has worked hard with Taylor Bracewell over the years to ensure they are using our case management software to its full potential and are proud to have supported them in successfully achieving the Plus accreditation.
“Taylor Bracewell prides itself on being a dynamic and forward-thinking law firm, a vision which resonates with us here at Access Legal. We look forward to continuing to support their future plans with our innovative software solutions, keeping security and compliance at the forefront.”
